1. Doing Business in the Middle East
Advising on the legal requirements for establishing joint venture companies, branch offices, and agencies in the Middle East Arab countries, in particular Iraq.
2. International Tendering
Study and analysis of international tender documents for industrial and construction projects as well as supply contracts. Advising and drafting legal and commercial reservations to minimise legal and commercial risks.
Saleh Majid was the chairman of the Committee which drafted the Iraqi government's Standard General Conditions of Contracts for Electrical and Mechanical projects.
3. Expert Opinion & Litigation
Litigation, submission of expert opinion, and preparation of claims arising from supply and construction contracts, as well as claims arising from tortious liability.
4. Preparation of Contracts
Expert advice, negotiating and drafting international contracts, including contracts for industrial projects, agency agreements, pre-bidding agreements, joint venture agreements, technical assistance agreements, licensing agreements, engineering consultancy contracts, and related documents.
5. Dispute Resolution
Acting as an arbitrator or arbitration counsel in respect of disputes between European and American companies and Middle Eastern clients.
6. Petroleum Projects
Middle East Legal Services also offers the expert services of Dr. M. Al-Chalabi, who is an independent consultant in oil exploration and development projects. The technical experience of Dr. M. Al Chalabi together with the legal experience of Prof. Adnan Amkhan and Saleh Majid in oil and gas related projects would provide an integrated service to petroleum companies intending to expand their business in the Middle East.
